Outside Sales Representative
Location: Des Moines, Iowa, USA POSITION SUMMARY
Maintains agent relationships and takes order of existing customers and secures new customers by calling or visiting and performs any duties assigned by the sales manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists existing agent network in promotion and sales of Oliver product line.
- Secures orders from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer facility or contacting by phone.
- Secures opportunities to quote on customer requirements.
- Follows up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to customers.
- Establishes professional customer/agent relationships with appropriate customer/Agent (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, other key personnel).
- Submits weekly activity/call reports concerning activities for quotes, orders, and problems concerning customer/agent relationships.
- Performs all assigned duties in the assigned sales territory.
- Provides lost business reports on a weekly basis.
- Provides a territory sales forecast on a monthly basis.
- Assists in tradeshow exhibition.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs any directly related appropriate duties assigned by the sales manager.
- Performs assigned duties with minimum personal supervision from the sales manager.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- BA or five years' experience in seed industry or ag related business.
- Outside sales experience.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized.
- Willingness to travel.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to drive company automobile.
