Pro-actively foster a quality approach to laboratory practices during the conduct and reporting of those studies;
  • Analyze and evaluate experimental results. Pro-actively identify deviations to expected results and take initiative on trouble-shooting solutions. Write SOP’s, including complex operations. Critically analyze SOP’s and, when required, improve procedures in order to keep state-to-the-art laboratory practices, improve operational effectiveness, reliability, traceability or safety;
  • Prepare timely, high quality reports and certificates of analysis. Present results to the supervisor or client and inform of project advancement.  Maintain and constantly improve the scientific quality, clarity and relevance of reports;
  • Monitor and record time spent on projects according to company guidelines. Ensure use of most appropriate technical approaches to a scientific objective (quality, timing, cost).  Plan, implement and foster team work in order to deliver project/study milestones;
  • Evaluate potential of new techniques and equipment. Critically analyze the various alternatives and give recommendations on investment needs. Maintain and develop scientific expertise by reading scientific literature and participating in international symposia. Participate in the hiring of technical and scientific staff;
  • Coach and train team members on techniques associated with the conduct of field studies. Act as team leader of a project- or competence-team: define individual objectives, follow up on progress, manage performance according to BCS leadership values and principles;
  • Develop and maintain state of the art expertise in one or more technologies of critical importance for the success and operational effectiveness of BCS Research & Development;
  • Travel as needed, domestically and internationally, approximately 25%.
