The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in the execution of quality control testing services provided to cotton research and development as well as parent seed production in preparation for commercial launch.
The incumbent will:
- Identify solutions to problems and support the completion of work assignments;
- Conduct tests, collect, and analyze data according to established protocols;
- Prepare lab analysis reports for approval by QA/QC manager for database archiving and submission to the various requesting entities;
- Assist in the development, establishment and troubleshooting of protocols as they are transferred from BioAnalytics services to local facility.
The selected candidate is required to possess the following:
- B.S. degree in Plant Molecular Biology, Molecular Biology or a related field;
- Proficient organization skills and demonstrated team-oriented abilities;
- Ability to understand complex laboratory equipment, analyze results and trouble-shoot both instruments and methods;
- Ability to follow an established protocol;
- Demonstrated interest in and strong desire to learn and to become proficient in molecular techniques;
- Demonstrated proficiency with written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated capabilities with problem solving skills;
- Knowledge of Microsoft office, including Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Plant Molecular Biology, Molecular Biology or Biology;
- 2+ years’ experience in agricultural biotechnology industry or related plant biological laboratory environment;
- Previous PCR equipment usage;
- Advanced computer abilities;
- Previous experience with cotton.
