To strengthen our Research Operations we are looking for highly qualified, motivated and experienced scientists for high cadre positions
Job Description:
To lead team of scientists breeders for development of new products
To breed, develop, scout elite varieties and hybrids of mandated crops and take them to commercialization
Manage IPR related issues
To develop plants with improved pest and disease resistance traits through molecular breedingin mandate crops
To Maintain appropriate inventory of nucleus, breeder and foundation seeds
Coordinate between marketing and R&D teams to achieve company’s mission
Candidate Profile:
Essential:
You have a PhD degree in Genetic/ Plant breeding and interest in either maize, rice, pearl millet or wheat molecular breeding
You have MSc degree in Genetics & Plant breeding and experience in relevant molecular breeding work
You are an experienced specialist in plant physiology, plant biochemistry or genetics
You can assimilate and translate scientific knowledge into novel applied research approaches
You are pro-active, an effective communicator and work well as part of a team
You have excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken
Desirable:
You have experience in plant breeding, genetics and cotton or other field crop physiology
You have a track record in using, developing and troubleshooting physiological and genotyping assays
You are a skilled coordinator with considerable experience in project management
You have ability and the energy to pursue and achieve solution to a problem
You have access to a broad network in plant biology and have good networking skills
You can lead a team of professional scientists and have considerable experience of 15-20 years of research in field crops- cereals, oilseeds, pulses and millets
