R&D Farm Manager

Location: Eyragues, France

Takii Europe is looking for a passionate Farm Manager R&D
(full time)

Are you the Farm Manager R&D Eyragues who loves breeding and developing new vegetable crops and pre-breeding research programs? Who is always on the lookout for ways to create better and new vegetable crops to enrich people’s lives out of a love for the profession? If so, read on…

What you will be doing

Within this exciting and varied position falls a divers range of tasks. As a Farm Manager you are responsible to lead and participate of all the implementations of all relevant working activities such as: monitor the execution of working activities, solving problems, ensure the safety of all personnel and you will integrate and coach guide, coach new/temporary staff.

You give advice about the use, capacity and technical services of the greenhouses and fields and in consultation with the station manager, breeders and production managers. You incorporate this advice into a weekly plan.

In addition you like taking care of the facilities such as greenhouses, machines, equipment and vehicles. And you ensure tidy greenhouses and sheds, removal of waste, production rotation, and green fertilization. Carrying out chemical and biological crop protection in such a way that diseases are combated, and cultivation is not endangered.

Furthermore you record your findings administratively in the system. Finally you like to follow new developments in the field of cultivation techniques, market trends, legislation and opportunities in the field and thereby contribute to the optimization of all cultivation activities.

What we expect from you

You have completed a minimum of Secondary stage studies after primary school, mostly based on agricultural studies) or equal level obtained by experience, field of study plant cultivation or technique. You are flexible and able to switch between activities and problems. Leadership is made for you and communicating at various levels is not a problem.

You have no problem with handling stress situations, and working sometimes during the weekends and occasionally working an alarm shift.  Finally you are fluent in French and English both orally and written.
