Main Goal

• Participate in the development and implementation of the industrial property policy and strategy defined by Limagrain.
• Carry out part of the industrial property activities for Limagrain

Job description

In collaboration with researchers, identify and protect inventions, deal with IP assets of competitors:

• Carry out patentability studies.
• Manage a patent portfolio: deposits, extensions, examination procedures, maintenance management/abandonment.
• Manage inventors’ remuneration.
• Carry out freedom to operate (FTO) studies, in particular via DNA/protein sequence approach.
• Deal with third party IP (third party observation, opposition).
• Raise awareness and train the R & D community on IP.
• Monitor and assess data saving process (lab book, …).
•  Lead Limagrain IP committees and forward recommendations to strategic committees;
• Participate in the setting-up of co-ownership, collaboration and licensing contracts for IP aspects with legal team.

Profile

• The ideal candidate is a graduate of the CEIPI (EQE could be a bonus) and has extensive knowledge in patent law, contractual IP clauses;
• He or she also has a solid knowledge in biotechnology, including ideally New Breeding Technologies NBTs and Genome Editing;
• With at least 6 years of experience in practice or business and, he/she is familiar with French, European and US IP rights, as well as portfolio management and sequence analysis tools;
• With good analytical and synthesis skills, he/she will also have excellent speaking and writing skills in both French and English.
• Team spirit, collaboration and first-rate organization skills and prior experience with R&D community round up your profile. Finally, your personal skills, listening and sensible advice, as well as your determination and rigor, will allow you to manage priorities and handle matters with diplomacy.
