We are seeking a part-time paid internship as a Research Assistant to be part of a dynamic, fast-growing, and diverse team at MyFloraDNA. Interns will get training and hands-on experience in plant molecular breeding and high throughput sequencing technologies. The candidate will participate in projects from initiation to delivery molecular breeding tools and execute gene discovery projects in collaboration with other scientists and companies.

Responsibilities

The candidate will play an active role performing genotyping assays including gene discovery and genetic purity identification. The intern would be primarily responsible for DNA sample quantitation, PCR and qPCR, processing tissue samples for molecular analysis, and other sample and reagent preparation steps using various liquid handling instruments. 

Education and Experience

• B.Sc. degree plant science, biotechnology, or other related fields. MS degree or PhD (preferred).
• Advanced skills in Excel; proficiency in programming languages (Python, or  R) is desired
• Strong motivational, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to drive change and influence team members
