Job Title: Product Development Coordinator
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Global Marketing & Product Development Lead
Date: July 2019
Locations: Woodland, California

Responsibilities and Duties:

  •  
  • Responsible for the regional Portfolio and Product Lifecycle, collects and summarizes output from the PD & Trial Seed specialists.
  • The PDC is responsible for short, medium- and long-term product strategies in the region.
  • Manages and executes Product advancement process based on or Product life cycle model.
  • Leads (in coordination with the Global PD Lead) advancement calls & meetings for the region.
  • Responsible for technical data/product advancement sheets before moving to V4 (Target market & Product Positioning based on features, advantages and benefits).
  • Partners with R&D and Commercial teams on trials evaluations and advancement decisions.
  • R&D resource recommendation definition based on key target segment (Biozones).
  • Develop (annual) trial plans in close coordination with the Product Development & Trial Representative and Breeders.
  • Establish minimum trial data in coordination with R&D team (protocol).
  • Support and coordinate annual Woodland Field day; planning and executing the field day in partnership with R&D, Sales and MKTG team to show and highlight our most updated pre-commercial and commercial varieties in the field.
  • Coordinates & consolidates the trial seed forecast for the regions (Prodasoft and ABS system).
  • Reviews (aligns/challenges) new varieties demand outlook, confirms production plans and manages inventories.
  • In coordination with Sales & Marketing develop product profiles (specs) & market segmentation analysis.
  • Validates and interprets Market data for the region.
  • Crop Business Plans (outline the market opportunity, expected changes, portfolio gaps; develop a clear strategy to grow the business and make it more profitable).
  • Supports the development of the long-range business plans (LRP’s).
  • Key stake holder in special projects as define Quality specs, Variety Naming Process, among others.

Skills and Personal Traits:

  • 5 years of experience preferred
  • BS or MS Degrees in Business Administration with focus on Agriculture and Supply Chain Management. (desired)
  • Area of Study at University Agronomy, Plant Science, Business or related fields.
  • Spanish spoken and written (business proficiency) is Preferred
  • Advance Skill levels in Microsoft Office
  • Result Oriented: a highly motivated professional, focused on reaching goals, achieving objectives using the right means and meeting deadlines, capable of fulfilling short term commitments without sacrificing the long-term viability of long-term projects.
  • Relationships & Networking: works effectively with teams and networks in different geographic, political, demographic, cultural and functional areas, has positive relationships with co-workers throughout the company, easily establishes communication with different teams and people.
  • Initiative & Future vision: under critical circumstances or under pressure, analyzes environmental circumstances and takes measures in each case to solve possible conflicts and achieve short- or long-term goals.
  • Work with integrity and with business professionalism amongst peers and leadership team.
