To support our SeedTec Team in Hann. Münden, Germany we are looking for a Manager Seed Technology.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide general leadership in the development of new and improved seed technologies and seed enhancements. The ideal jobholder has excellent knowledge of seed and plant physiology combined with significant experience in the area of applied seed treatments and in the field of quality assurance.

Key responsibilities and key challenges:

• Lead a team of 12 people
• Design and conduct research projects to improve seed performance, seed conditioning and seed quality
• Responsible for development of new and improvement of existing seed enhancements
• Seed testing and all aspects of seed quality control testing
• Organize and oversee all internal and external seed treatments
• Support internal / external customers and suppliers in order to ensure seed quality are matching agreed quality standards
• Spread seed technology expertise to other locations within the Benary group
• Build up center of competence for all kind of seed treatments
• Management of and Participation in projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders e.g. sales, universities and institutes
• Joint projects with production to develop and improve pre- und postharvest protocols

Qualifications:

• University degree in horticulture or agricultural science, biotechnology or equivalent qualification - with in depth understanding of plant and seed physiology and biotechnology, plant genetics and/or related disciplines
• Inspiring team player with excellent leadership and communication skills and ability to effectively interact with different personalities,
• Knowledge of seed enhancements and treatments; and subsequent seed testing methods
• Market-oriented, entrepreneurial approach with focus on customers
• Sound Judgment and Decision Making paired with the ability to proactively solve problems
• Able to cope with pressure and conflicting demands
• Fluent in speaking and writing in English and German
