The American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) secures big win for U.S. corn seed industry Alexandria, Virginia, USA ASTA and its members, in close partnership with the USDA, as well as national and regional seed associations, have successfully protected market access for U.S. corn seed production in Chile, securing a major victory for the industry. This is critical for the seed industry and American innovation, as Chile is a vital counter-seasonal partner. In 2024, the U.S. exported $1.8 million in field corn seed to Chile, while importing nearly $45 million, helping power continuous innovation and supply. This success underscores the impact of strong collaboration across the seed sector and government partners, delivering tangible results for ASTA members.
