Team Lead, Seed Processing

Location: Salinas, California, USA

Enza Zaden in Salinas, California is looking for a highly motivated seed processing professional to join our team.

What will you do?

As the Team Lead Processing for Enza Zaden you will ensure the realization of the process to obtain a product that complies with specifications in terms of quantity, quality, and costs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Development of a high performing team by leading, motivating, coaching, and developing assigned team members.
  • Responsible for the planning.
  • Trouble shooting malfunctions and decide to implement improvements. Implementation of new techniques in consultation with Process Technology.
  • Management and monitoring of the quality management system (KMS) within the department, including development, implementation, and maintenance of work instructions.
  • Active participation in and management of (multidisciplinary) (improvement) projects within the own department.
  • Accountable for safeguarding safety within the own department and actively contributing to the general safety levels at Enza.
  • In the role of Key User responsible for participation in (sub) projects regarding drafting of the software to be developed / configured, the testing and implementation of the new / adapted software, and the training of employees in the use of software.
  • Translation of the Operations plan into concrete actions for own department. Continuous process analysis and contributing to process optimization.

Your power

You are a self-motivated person who takes initiative, recognizes opportunities, and has a systematic method of working. You can work independently, but you are also able to work in cross-functional teams. You promote and follow safety procedures.

  • Higher Education in related field preferred.
  • 3 plus years of relevant work experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • A thorough understanding of English, both verbal and written is required. 
  • The ability to speak and understand some Spanish is highly desired.   
  • Knowledge in the field of seed types
  • Knowledge of industry specific machines and procedures Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willing to travel internationally (occasionally).
