Description & Requirements

Job Responsibilities:  The Kraft Heinz Global Agriculture team is looking for a summer intern to assist in the Product Development work done by it’s HeinzSeed business unit.  This position will be responsible for a wide range of technical- manual- and administrative work.  Candidates must be adaptable- willing to put in “sweat equity” and have an interest in the seed industry and how it forms the basis for the food and fiber supply-chain.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include- but not be limited to:

• Assisting in the maintenance and evaluation of varietal trials throughout the state of California.
• Harvest- sampling- and delivery of tomatoes to laboratory locations.
• Participation in marketing efforts – customer events- media asset development (video- photography- social media and blog content)- white space activations- etc.
• Management of field sensor technology and associated data.

 Skills/Qualifications:

• Actively enrolled in a college agricultural degree program
• Ability to work outdoor- under diverse environmental conditions
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to be insured and drive a company vehicle
• Desire to understand and participate in the varietal development process
• Good English speaking and writing capabilities- Spanish speaking-ability preferred
• Competencies include strong written and oral communication skills- problem solving- and innovation.
• Technical proficiencies in Microsoft Office
• Demonstrates ownership of projects and supports culture of meritocracy
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities without supervision- meet established deadlines and excel in a team environment. 
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to deal with difficult situations tactfully and resolve conflicts effectively. 
• Good English speaking and writing capabilities- Spanish speaking ability preferred.
• Analysis: correlation- root cause and effect.
• Organization:  set and comply with milestones and deadlines
• Communication:  clear- concise and organized writing and speaking skills
• Able to work independently- acting with sense of urgency and as an owner
