Finalité du poste

In a technical fast moving environment and easy access to genetic and genomic knowledge, Agriculture use routinely high throughput molecular technologies to support research, plant breeding, seed production, variety protection and seed lot quality control.
In this context HM.CLAUSE within the R&D Laboratory Support Function, recruit a Genotyping Platform Manager for a permanent contract based in La Bohalle (France).
Reporting to the R&D Laboratory Support Director, in a context of multi-disciplinary and international Laboratory Support Unit, first main job purpose is to manage global genotyping data production with the aim of providing the best service in terms of quality, efficiency and competitiveness to internal and external partners.
Secondary purpose consists in supporting strategy and global deployment of planning and analytics tools and methods, production standards and continuous improvement for R&D Support Platforms.

Missions

• In collaboration with the Molecular and Genomics team and the Geneticists, based on Breeding and Quality Control management requirements, you will define the specifications and ensure the implementation of HM-Clause genotyping platform organizational and technological evolutions.
• You will manage a team of 20 to 30 lab Employees, Assistants and Executives. You will submit and monitor allocated supply and labor budget, calculate production costs and invoice for service in addition to equipment acquisition and maintenance.
• You will develop and implement efficient management processes and tools for high throughput data production and improve short to long-term qualitative and quantitative efficiency in alignment with corporate goals.
• You will advise on methods and tools for the establishment of planning and analytics (QA, KPI, Key numbers, cost calculation and invoicing, …) and you will support their global deployment in partnership with the Pathology and Cell Biology Global Support Platform Managers.
• As a master in continuous improvement you will partner with other Platform Managers to promote methodologies for efficiency and performance improvement.
• You will collaborate and cooperate with other Laboratory R&D structures in the Vegetable and Field Crops Divisions of the Limagrain Group.

Profil

• PHD or Master degree in Molecular Biology with at least 10 years experience in service lab management, ideally experience in high throughput genotyping/genotyping by sequencing service structure.
• Knowledge of plant domain would be an advantage. Experience in agri-business sector is a plus.
• Strong experience in team management and people development.
• Leadership, strong verbal and written communication, decision making, accountability, capacity to negotiate and convince.
• Proven experience in process organization and optimization, establishment of KPIs and performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (lean management, 5S, Kaizen…).
• Ability to integrate technical constrains with high throughput production requirements.

• You are service oriented and have ability to manage in stressful situations interacting with multiple users.
• The position requires to be fluent in English and French languages and will lead to 10% both domestic and international travels.
