What You Will Do:
Provide direct supervision and management of product quality, and quality related activities, as it relates to seed production, conditioning, treating and packaging. Site stewardship responsibilities for all quality assurance and quality control documents associated with the companies Quality Business Systems. Additional duties may include ISO 9001 auditing, site non-conformance and request for variance administration, and internal auditing duties. Responsible for in process Quality Control testing/inspection and serving as a quality ambassador to support global quality initiatives. Assist with operational and capital budgets, and management of plant personnel as assigned by Site Manager.
Foster an operational culture founded on HSE, Quality, and continuous process improvement. Active leadership in the Goal Zero initiative.
Who You Are:
- Assist Site Manager as required in all areas of operations
- Coordinate, direct, and suggest improvements to the field inspection program. Work with field team to ensure product quality meets standards
- Manage process simulation for conditioning requirements – may include direct supervision, hiring of staff, data entry, sizing recommendations and analysis
- Develop and maintain a product quality inspection program to ensure bulk storage and conditioning standard requirements are being met
- Develop and maintain a product quality inspection program to ensure packaged quality and outbound shipments meet customer specifications – includes seed appearance and damage checks, as well as packaging requirements
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality systems, processes, and programs for the site operations
- Support Site safety and quality initiatives
- SAP data entry and reporting as needed
- Oversee sampling requirements for new crop, returns and carry-over seed to meet testing requirements
- Ensure Regulatory requirements are met for any USDA regulated crops, from field through shipment
- Direct point of contact for all site-based and other business stakeholder quality related issues
- Oversees personnel, including 3rd party labor, for all quality related processes
- Coordinate and lead root cause analysis for all site related customer complaints and internal deviations from company standards
- Owner for site related request for variance and non-conformity processes
- Foster an operational culture founded on adherence to all applicable HSE and other corporate policies, procedures and guidelines. Active leadership around Syngenta’s Goal Zero initiative
- Monitor SAP processes related to quality to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Monitor product quality from the field through the distribution process
- Analyze and report product quality metrics and performance
- To assist in other areas of the office and/or plant as workload requires
- May participate in performance reviews of personnel
- Develop a cross-functional knowledge of field and plant activities and others as assigned by plant management
- Understanding of seed labeling laws, seed certification laws and interstate shipment regulations
- Ability to work across cross-functional teams and drive processes
- Coordinate and lead the distribution/inventory of Green Leaf Genetics corn and soybeans
- Coordinate the corn inbred LPM to P&S hand off (quality testing/SAP inventory)
Qualifications
You Have:
- BA/BS diploma strongly preferred or 2-4 years of related experiences
- Experience in quality related fields, or seed production
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- All applicants must be eligible to work it the US

- Some physical demands of the role include but are not limited to:
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to walk seed production fields in any weather
- 7-day work weeks during critical time of year
- Travel by car/pickup during certain periods of year
- Extensive travel during peak times of hear
- Capability to be forklift certified
- Sometimes working in dusty and/or hot conditions
