Product Development Specialist, Onion and Carrot

We are looking for a Product Development (PD) Specialist - Onion and Carrots for the Americas to join our Agricultural Solutions team. This is a remote role and the candidate should be located in either Florida, Georgia, or South Carolina.

The PD Specialist leverages market insights, customer relationships, and crop expertise to design and deliver high-impact product development activities, aligning initiatives with crop strategy and marketing plans under the PD Specialist while collaborating closely with R&D and country sales teams; they translate data into actionable knowledge to support data-driven decisions, elevation proposals, and precise variety positioning that drive successful product introductions and customer satisfaction, act as the technical expert for BASF Nunhems varieties to support sales and optimize customer field performance, coordinate Trial 2 activities with country sales, and develop customized trials for key accounts to accelerate adoption and increase sales.

As a Product Development Specialist - Onion and Carrot, you create chemistry by...

  • Developing PD activities by leveraging market insights, customer relationships, and crop expertise to design and implement impactful programs that drive product success
  • Managing and analyzing data by collecting, validating, and interpreting trial and market information with analytical tools to generate insights for decisions and elevation proposals
  • Creating and positioning value propositions by defining key product benefits and strategic messaging to strengthen competitive advantage and customer appeal
  • Coordinating and executing trials by guiding technicians in Trial 1 setup and collaborating with sales on Trial 2 planning to ensure effective, commercially aligned trials
  • Training sales teams by delivering targeted product knowledge sessions on new varieties to enable confident sales execution and successful launches
  • Planning customized PD activities by developing tailored trial plans for key accounts based on specific customer needs to enhance engagement and relevance
  • Developing growing concepts by proposing and leading innovative cultivation strategies tailored to market and customer demands to support differentiation and adoption
  • Serving as technical reference by providing expert support internally and externally to enhance sales efforts and ensure customer success with BASF Nunhems varieties

If you...

  • Hold a BSc in Agriculture (MSc preferred)
  • Possess 5–8 years’ relevant Product Development or international Marketing & Sales experience (10+ years preferred)
  • Demonstrate seasoned experimentation skills and crop-specific agronomic expertise
  • Use digital productivity tools proficiently to support PD activities and reporting
  • Plan and organize projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery and resource alignment
  • Solve problems independently with structured, data-informed approaches
  • Analyze and interpret trial and market data to generate actionable insights
  • Collaborate across functions and countries to drive alignment and execution
  • Apply local market knowledge and commercial awareness to inform strategy
  • Deliver results with a strong performance orientation and KPI focus
  • Decide assertively, take initiative, and work autonomously with accountability
  • Maintain a strong customer orientation and support commercial success
  • Communicate professionally in English; Spanish language skills are desired
  • Are able to travel up to 40%, domestically
